What is an engagement session?
An engagement session is a relaxed photo session designed to celebrate your relationship and capture this exciting season of life. It’s about genuine connection, not stiff posing — I’ll guide you throughout so everything feels natural and effortless.
We’re awkward in front of the camera. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Most couples feel this way — and it’s completely normal. You don’t need any modeling experience. I’ll guide you with natural prompts and movement so your images feel authentic, not forced.
What should we wear?
I recommend neutral tones, soft textures, and outfits that feel like you. Coordinating (not matching) works best. Once you book, you’ll receive a prep guide with outfit tips, colour suggestions, and what photographs best.
Can we change outfits?
Yes! Most engagement sessions include 1–2 outfit changes, depending on your selected package. Outfit changes add variety and allow for both casual and elevated looks.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions can take place outdoors, at a meaningful location, or in an urban or natural setting around Halifax and surrounding areas. I’m always happy to suggest locations that fit your style and vision.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Weather is monitored closely. If conditions aren’t ideal, we’ll reschedule at no additional cost. My goal is always to create the best possible images — safely and comfortably.
How long does the session last?
Engagement sessions typically last 60–90 minutes, depending on the package selected. This allows time to relax, explore locations, and create a variety of images without feeling rushed.
How many images do we receive?
Each package includes a set number of professionally edited digital images. Additional images and print products are always available if you’d like more.
Do we get the digital files?
Yes. Your selected images are delivered as high-resolution digital files with a personal print release, allowing you to print and share your images.
Can we use the photos for save-the-dates or wedding websites?
Definitely! Engagement photos are perfect for save-the-dates, invitations, wedding websites, and announcements.
Do you share our photos online?
Images are only shared with your written permission. Privacy is always respected, and choosing not to allow sharing will never affect your experience.
How far in advance should we book?
Engagement sessions are best booked 2–6 months in advance, especially during peak seasons (spring, summer, and fall).
