For Her:

  • Flowy dresses photograph beautifully
  • Neutral tones, soft pastels, or rich earthy colors
  • Avoid neon colors or busy patterns
  • Bring a second outfit if you’d like variety

For Him:

  • Fitted (but comfortable) clothing
  • Neutral tones (beige, navy, charcoal, olive)
  • Avoid large logos or graphics
  • Layers add depth (jacket, overshirt, textured sweater)

Tip: Choose outfits that complement each other — not match exactly.

Hair, Makeup & Grooming

  • Professional hair and makeup is not required but it is recommended.
  • Avoid trying new skincare products right before your session
  • Clean nails (neutral polish looks timeless)
  • Gentle beard trim for a polished look

Choosing a Location

We’ll choose a location that fits your vibe:

  • Coastal & romantic

In the Halifax area, golden hour light is especially beautiful by the water and open fields

Timing Matters

The best light happens:

  • 1 hour after sunrise
  • 1 hour before sunset (golden hour — my favorite)

Cloudy days are absolutely okay — they create soft, flattering light.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable shoes for walking between spots
  • Lip gloss / powder for touch-ups
  • Water
  • A small bag that can be set aside

Optional:

  • Champagne
  • A cozy blanket

A meaningful prop (if it feels natural to you)

How to Prepare Emotionally

The biggest thing? Relax.

You don’t need to know how to pose. I will guide you the entire time with natural prompts and movement so nothing feels stiff or forced.Laugh. Move. Stay close.
